Imperial was the fourth of the megacorporations to emerge, and some versions of history claim that it actually didn't come into being until after the Exodus from Earth. Whatever the case, while Mishima got Mercury, Capitol got Mars, and Bauhaus got Venus, Imperial had no planet of its own. It eventually set up its bases on a large planetoid discovered in the asteroid belt, dubbed Victoria ... and on Jupiter's moon of Ganymede. Ganymede has been transformed into a forested world, though it is fairly cold compared to the other terraformed planets. Victoria only maintains its atmosphere by artificial means.

Imperial has the dubious distinction of being the first corporation to set foot on Pluto, as its Conquistadors set out there to find new land to claim. Little is known exactly what happened during that fateful expedition, but the Conquistadors found an ancient tablet ... and moved on to discover a new planet, Nero. There, they broke the "First Seal of Repulsion", and let loose an ancient enemy upon mankind: the Dark Soul, and its servants, the Dark Apostles.

Imperial has sought to redeem itself, and has publicly spoken out in favor of the Brotherhood on many an occasion, but it has not done well in following the Brotherhood's dictates for all of humanity to work together. Imperial is blatant in its policy of armed acquisition of rival megacorporate holdings. It has used the Brotherhood's condemnation of Cybertronic as an "open season" on Cybertronic holdings ... but, what's more, to seize the holdings of other megacorporations, claiming that the seized facilities had "Cybertronic influences" -- or, better yet, corruption of the Dark Legion.

While this doesn't exactly put Imperial on good terms with the other megacorporations, it has been serious in its fight against the Dark Legion, and its most famous special forces units, the Blood Berets and the Wolfbanes, are quite familiar with combat against Legionnaires and other such monsters. (They just spend an awful lot of time fighting Venusian Rangers and Capitol Infantry, too.)

The Imperial megacorporation is divided into several clans, much in the same way that Bauhaus is divided into noble houses. Each clan supports its own special forces, and the Highlanders are drawn from all clans. There are also the Wolfbanes -- mercenaries that sell their services to the various clans, and forego their own clan ties. While the megacorporate policies may put them into conflict with fellow humans on a regular basis (the "Golden Lions" special forces, for instance, are specifically formed for the purpose of "hostile takeovers" of rival holdings), there are still many clans within Imperial that realize the threat that this infighting poses, and seek to make peace with the other corporations and join forces against the Dark Legion.

Imperial products tend to be strong on power, though at the expense of other concerns. Imperial tanks are powerful, but are gas guzzlers. Imperial weapons are hard-hitting, but inaccurate.
