Capitol Logo

Capitol weapons are fairly rugged, built with standardized parts and easy assembly, such that any Capitolian soldier is expected to be able to disassemble and reassemble the M-50 assault rifle and M-606 light machine gun while blindfolded. Insofar as weapon performance, Capitolian weapons are as close to "average" as can be found amongst the megacorporations.

Ammunition for clip-fed weapons costs one percent of the cost of the weapon itself for 1 full clip or belt.

Capitol Sword of Honor Capitol Sword of Honor

This sword is purely a token of position. It is given to officers who are awarded the Chairman's Legion of Honor for their battle valor and usefulness to the corporation. Unlike the Legion of Honor medal, the sword can't be awarded to civilians. Despite its "ceremonial" status, and the ornate "eagle's head" pommel, it is quite functional, laser-sharpened to a fine edge.

Sherman Model 7 'Enforcer' Revolver Sherman Model 7 "Enforcer" Revolver

The Enforcer is one of the cheapest and most popular guns on the streets. It is famous for its reliability. Because of its low cost, it is the most commonly used sidearm of private cops, small time hoods, and homeowners. You can find Enforcers almost everywhere.

Jenson .45 Widowmaker Jenson .45 "Widowmaker" Combat Revolver

The "Widowmaker" is a simple revolver based off of designs found in the Capitol War Museum over 1500 years old. It is a traditional weapon of the Rangers, who value its simple design, low bulk, and heavy hitting power at short range. There are also some who claim that its simple mechanism is all but immune to the influence of the Dark Symmetry.

Sherman Model 9 'Bolter Classic' Handgun Sherman/FAM Model 9 "Bolter Classic" Handgun

This was the first handgun to gain the "Bolter" label, and is superficially similar in appearance to the later M-13, except that it is smaller in size and uses a smaller caliber. The M-9 has been discontinued by Sherman Arms, but is still manufactured under license by Federated Arms & Munitions (FAM) in San Dorado and Columbia on Mars. Due to confusion with the newer Bolter, it is generally marketed as the "Classic".

Sherman .74 Model 13 'Bolter' Handgun Sherman .74 Model 13 "Bolter" Handgun

The M-13 Bolter is the most common handgun manufactured by Capitol, and sees frequent civilian use. (The average Capitolian citizen has a gun and knows how to use it.) This weapon is meant to be used with two hands, given its large caliber, thus the odd design.

(Requires at least "Novice" (2 pt.) Enhanced Strength to use one-handed without penalty. Also, please note a change from the official rules - 1d6 is the damage listed in the RPG, but it has been changed to 1d6+1 to reflect the Bolter's reputation as a heavy-hitting weapon.)

M-15 Ironfist Sherman Model 15 'Ironfist' Military Sidearm

This is basically a military version of the M-13 Bolter, with an integral grenade launcher mounted under the barrel. This is most certainly not the sort of handgun that you try to perform the "John Woo Method" with.

(Requires "Average" (4 pt.) Enhanced Strength to use one-handed without penalty.)

M-12 'Wasp' SMG M-12 "Wasp" SMG

The M-12 Wasp is a product of the collaborative effort that produced the L&A Plasma Carbine used by Cartel forces, and a predecessor to the more widely used CAR-24. In appearance, it resembles the Plasma Carbine, but it lacks the ability to use plasma ammunition. It does, however, utilize a fairly large extended magazine, housing 50 rounds.

(Requires "Average" (4 pt.) Enhanced Strength to use one-handed without penalty.)

M-74 Assault Carbine M-74 Assault Carbine

This weapon is a heavy-hitting SMG that sacrifice reliability and accuracy for damage at close ranges, and also features a compact design that enhances its usefulness in close quarters. It is used almost exclusively by the Assault Marines, though it occasionally finds use in the hands of Capitol's other special forces units in close quarters situations.

(Requires "Good" (6 pt.) Strength to use one-handed without penalty.)

Calix Carbine "Calix" Carbine

This weapon was designed to be a replacement for the venerable CAR-24, but it was largely unsuccessful, plagued by rumors of unreliability. In actuality, it is a fairly hardy weapon, having some modest improvements over the CAR-24, but replacement parts are hard to come by, and it uses an odd caliber of ammunition, making it a curiosity that is more often found in private collections or packed away in warehouses rather than actually in the hands of Capitolian troops.

The military does use it on occasion, but the weapon suffers a considerable recoil that makes it unwieldy in the wrong hands.

(Requires "Good" (6 pt.) Strength to use one-handed without penalty.)

M-23 Assault Rifle Sherman Model 23 Assault Rifle

This is a predecessor to the presently used M-50 assault rifle, lacking the integral grenade launcher, and having a shorter barrel length. This weapon was for a time out of production, and considered something of an antique, and obsolete, but the recent flare-up of the Second Corporate Wars has prompted it to be put back into production as a cheaper alternative to the M-50.

Improved M89 HMG Improved M89 / S-102 / S-102A Heavy Machine Gun

The Improved M89 is a gatling-style heavy machine gun typically mounted on vehicles or on a tripod. Some particularly strong soldiers actually carry the M89 into battle, as it offers a high rate of fire, but not much in the way of accuracy when carried rather than braced.

The S-102 is essentially an identical weapon, with technical improvements that don't translate directly into combat statistics. The S-102A is a variant specifically meant for use as a squad support weapon.

SR-50 Sniper Rifle Greening M-303 "Dinostalker" / SR-50 "Manstalker" Sniper Rifle

The SR-50 "Manstalker" Sniper Rifle is a fairly durable weapon, capable of mounting a bayonet attachment under the barrel. It sacrifices some of the range and accuracy of the Bauhaus PSG-99 in favor of slightly heavier hitting power. It has very little in the way of "bells and whistles", offering simplicity and reliability instead of features. All in all, it represents the "average" sniper rifle available to megacorporate special forces.

Originally, this weapon was manufactured by Greening Arms as a rifle designed for hunting big game, such as dinosaurs on Venus and Mercury. It was only a matter of time before the weapon was adapted for a military use.

DPAT-9 Deuce RL DPAT-9 Deuce Rocket Launcher

The DPAT-9 Deuce rocket-propelled grenade launcher is a truly venerable design, little changed since the First Corporate Wars, and has a relatively small magazine compared to most of the models used by other megacorporations. It's a simple design, but by no means the best available to corporate forces - It persists as a relic of a bygone era and a perhaps misguided notion of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Vehicles

Most of the vehicles in service in the Capitol armed forces have seen little change over the past few centuries, save for advances that do little to change outward appearances to the designs. Capitol vehicles have standardized parts, and are easily maintained, for the most part. While Capitol has a fair assortment of ground vehicles, it excels in aircraft. In any clashes with the other megacorporations, Capitol almost always has air superiority. This not only includes fighters and gunships, but Capitol's "Sky Shark Industries" produces a number of small one- or two-man "flying bikes" to fit a number of roles.

KA-67 Great Grey, Mk. I KA-67 Great Grey

The Great Grey is a one-man hoverbike. The military version has a mounted machine-gun under the nose, while civilian versions can be found in variant forms in use by law enforcement and for private use in Capitol territories.

  • Mark I: This is the most venerable of Great Grey designs still found in use, either in private ownership or law enforcement, as any in the military have long since been retired - one way or another. The main body has a structure reminiscent of a civilian snowmobile, and the cowling is fairly distinctive for actually being shaped to suggest the head of a Martian Great Grey shark, right down to the recessed "eyes" and rows of "teeth".
  • Mark II: This model was designed with a well-meaning attempt to be more "user-friendly", and to accommodate riders in full battle armor, by removing the "hump" in the center that the rider would normally have to straddle. Various design changes compromised the Great Grey's maneuverability and other performance factors, and it also earned the unflattering nickname of the "Flying Throne" (or less polite variations). This model is still found in civilian use, but the Mark I is actually preferred over it for sport and law enforcement roles.
  • Great Grey Mk. III Mark III: This is the latest design, doing away with much concern at all for the conceit of making the craft resemble a shark, though its lines still manage to convey something of that idea. The craft is now much more sleek, supported by powerful turbofans slung underneath, and allows the rider a lower profile and somewhat better protection. The Mark III is the version presently being made for military use. It can be found in civilian and law enforcement only in very small numbers, as the technology is prohibitively expensive.

  • Purple Shark Purple Shark

The Purple Shark is a two-man hoversled, providing aerial support in small "schools" (flights) of several vehicles. Typically, there is one driver and one bombardier or spotter in the back. Older versions of the Purple Shark look more akin to flying bobsleds, and are more distinctive in the attempt by engineers to actually make the nose look reminiscent of a shark head. Newer models are sleeker and capable of better maneuvering while hovering, with less concern for the old whimsical convention of making the vehicle look remotely like a shark.

Sasta on Pegasus Scout Bike (Miniature) Pegasus Scout Bike

This is the smallest of the Sky Shark models, at the cutting edge of personal flying vehicles, typically used for reconnaisance in military settings, though it can also be found in a civilian version for private use. Neither version has any vehicle-mounted weapons. The military version is distinctive in having heavier armor for the vehicle (though there's none to protect the rider) and sensor arrays.

    AH/UH-64 Grapeshot/Guardian Helicopter AH/UH-64 Grapeshot/Guardian Multi-Role Helicopter

This military helicopter is built with a modular design, allowing it to change roles with detachable weapons wings and compartments. As the AH-64 Grapeshot, it is Capitol's standard helicopter gunship, with a number of weapons that can be mounted to prepare it for attacks against hard or soft ground targets, or air-to-air combat. As the UH-64 Guardian, it serves as an aerial troop transport, ferrying troops into the battlefield, and then remaining in the area to provide support.

    Orca Battlesuit Orca Battlesuit

The Orca Battlesuit is Capitol's foray into powered armor, though it serves more a role of an armored gun platform than the typical "power suit" configuration. The driver is encased in an armored "bubble" cockpit, controlling the walker and its side gun "arms", which may be attached in several different configurations, with a short-range shotgun mounted under the nose to serve as an anti-personnel weapon for close targets. A gunner can ride in a "jumper" seat in the back, manning a gun affixed atop the Orca ... though it's a fairly exposed position, since the gunner is not encased by the Orca's armor, added more as an afterthought than an original design consideration.

Orcas are designed primarily for defensive roles, as they have fairly low mobility for vehicles of their size. They are sometimes adopted for use with combat engineer teams, or for civilian use in hazardous and/or urban environments, substituting more appropriate weaponry or manipulator arms. There are several standard configurations:

  • Mark I: Hazardous environment. 1-man crew. Heavy lifting arms.
  • Mark II: Crowd control. 2-man crew. Tear-gas grenade launcher and rubber bullets.
  • Mark III: General purpose. 2-man crew. Recoilless cannon.
  • Mark IV: Anti-Personnel. 2-man crew. Heavy flame-thrower.
  • Mark V: Anti-Tank. 2-man crew. Rocket launcher.

  • Manta Manta

The Manta is a VTOL craft used by the Capitol military as an aerial troop and supply transport, distinctive for its double fuselage construction. The pilot sits within one cockpit bubble, while the gunner/navigator sits within the other. This vehicle is also used for police purposes, though rarely in urban areas, due to the risk of malfunction over highly populated areas.

    Juggernaut

Juggernauts are collosal vehicles that roll across the largest gauge rails of the Trans-Martian Railway - In essence, rolling fortresses that ferry Capitolian troops across the planet and defend Capitolian cities along the railway that spans the planet's circumference. There are no "models" of Juggernauts, per se - Each one is a unique creation, and most have been in use for centuries.
