The Art of Exorcism is the Aspect of the Art that focuses on healing. Whenever a caster uses a spell from the Art of Exorcism, his hands are surrounded by a reddish glow, and he then touches the target to release the energy to do its work. The light traces through the recipient's body, seeking out the damage, and then fading as it does its work.

  • Exorcise Disease

    Area of Effect: 1 target
    Range: touch
    Duration: instant
    This spell cures any one disease in the victim, but does not repair any physical damage caused by the disease before the cure.

    Each extra magnitude will cause one of the following effects:

  • Increase range by 15 m
  • Add one target to the area of effect
  • Allow the spell to be used against one more disease within the same target

  • Exorcise Wound

    Area of Effect: 1 target
    Range: touch
    Duration: instant
    This spell heals the recipient of one light wound ("Ouchie"), and immediately stops any bleeding.

    Each extra magnitude will cause one of the following effects:

  • Increase the range by 15 m
  • Add one target to the area of effect
  • Two light wounds ("Ouchies") healed instead of one
  • (for 2 extra Magnitudes) Mend broken bones
  • (for 2 extra Magnitudes) Heal one heavy wound ("Bonk") or five light wounds; each additional Magnitude heals another heavy wound

  • Exorcise Infection

    Area of Effect: 1 target
    Range: touch
    Duration: instant
    This cleans any wounds of infection.

    Each extra Magnitude will cause one of the following effects:

  • Increase the range by 15 m
  • Add one target to the area of effect

  • Exorcise Poison

    Area of Effect: 1 target
    Range: touch
    Duration: instant
    This spell removes a poison from the target's body. It can also be used to neutralize a single dose of poison -- on a weapon, in a container, or held in a living creature's poison sacs. It does not repair any damage caused by the poison before it was neutralized.

    Each extra Magnitude will cause one of the following effects:

  • Increase the range by 15 m
  • Add one target to the area of effect
  • Affect one more dose of poison within the same target (not necessarily of the same type)

  • Exorcise Dark Influences

    Area of Effect: 1 target
    Range: touch
    Duration: instant
    This can be used to convert Heretics back to "normal", at least physically and in terms of magically-induced mental/spiritual effects. (It can't make an evil monster into a good guy, unless that was the creature's normal disposition before the Darkness got hold of it.) The Magnitude of the spell must be higher than the Heretic's Rank, or there is no effect whatsoever. A success purges the Heretic of all Dark Influences. A failure reduces the Heretic's Rank by 1. Another Exorcism attempt may not be made until 24 hours have passed.

    This purges Dark Influences, but does not affect any side effects the Dark Influence may have caused (diseases, infections and the like).
