Bauhaus has a reputation for producing armor of the highest overall quality, though not necessarily as powerful as Cybertronic armor, and without the power-augmentation of Mishima armor. It's not cheap, but it does the job. Bauhaus armor can be found in many styles, but it still tends to have a distinctive "Bauhaus" look, most particularly in the design of the shoulder pauldrons.
All Bauhaus armor is manufactured from custom-made ceramics and high-strength alloys. The inside of the armor is cushioned with layers of shock-absorbent quilting. All Bauhaus armor is worn over a light ballistic bodysuit which provides an AV 2 to all areas.
Climate Control Systems Almost all Bauhaus armor can be equipped with an integral climate system appropriate for the terrain in which it is used. This is a necessity for use on Venus, which is known for extremes of heat and cold. Climate Control System units are usually located in a pod mounted on the back of the armor, with tubes running about the midsection, with a control unit located near the neckline on the chestplate. Common CCS units are:
Cresthelms Cresthelms are the mark of the House Guard Orders, providing similar protection to an ordinary helmet, but are molded to resemble the heads of beasts, monsters, and stranger things. A basic cresthelm costs twice as much as an ordinary helmet, or else if purchased with a suit, add +5% to the cost of the armor. Many warriors spend additional money - on their own expense - to add jewels and precious metals to the already impressive artisanship of the basic cresthelm. This doesn't improve the protection any, but is a sure sign of wealth and status.
Armor The following are complete suits of armor issued to various military forces within Bauhaus. The style of the helmet will depend upon the unit the wearer belongs to. Hussars, for example, wear a fairly plain, spike-topped helmet with face-plate. Venusian Rangers and Guard Units of lesser Houses wear the distinctive skull mask of the Special Forces. Guard Units of the Noble Houses would add a Cresthelm at the appropriate increase in cost. Armor available outside of Bauhaus has deliberately different styling, so that, even while it may be functionally the same, it can't quite pass for Bauhaus military gear, and the helmets are different in look as well, bearing some similarity to the helmets of the Ducal Militia, only without the distinctive spike on the top. The shoulder pauldrons of Bauhaus military-grade armor serve to store a first aid kit and spare ammunition clips. The armor also routinely comes with a utility belt with clips for grenades, holsters, grappling hooks, et cetera. In colder climates, or for a sense of fashion, a great coat, cloak or cape can be worn over the chest plate but under the shoulder pads. These are full suits of armor, covering the entire body, and also including a light ballistic bodysuit underneath that gives an additional AV 2 to each area. (The number to the right of the slash is the total AV with this bonus taken into account.) All Bauhaus armor listed below has an Availability Code of "C" (requires license), and has a Failure Rate of 1-2 on a roll of 1d20 if an attack penetrates the armor. (Only Cybertronic makes armor with a better failure rate.)
